X-Ray
X-Rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation (low dose) which can penetrate the body to form an image on film. All X-Rays at ViaMedica Radiology require a referral from a doctor and are a walk-in service – no need for a scheduled appointment.
Bone Density
The bone densitometry machine (DEXA) is used to determine the bone density of the body. It is a quick, simple, safe and painless exam. A doctor referral and a scheduled appointment is required.
Mammography
Mammography is an x-ray of the breast that uses low doses of radiation. ViaMedica Radiology offers diagnostic mammograms which are a key element in the diagnosis of breast cancer. A doctor’s referral and a scheduled appointment is required.
Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram is an ultrasound (high-frequency sound waves) of the heart which illustrates a graphic outline of the heart’s movement/activity. A doctor’s referral and a scheduled appointment is required.
